DailySpend

Support

DailySpend divides what you have for the month by the days in it, and shows you one number: what you can spend today.

Something broken, something confusing, or something you want it to do?

One person reads this, so expect a reply within a few days rather than a few minutes. Telling me which iPhone and which version of iOS you are on saves a round trip.

Common questions

How do I change my budget?

Tap the gear icon on the main screen. Change what you need and tap Save — nothing applies until you do. Changing it part-way through a month does not reset the month or lose what you have already banked.

Why is my spending not appearing on my other device?

Both devices need to be signed in to the same iCloud account with iCloud Drive on. Sync runs in the background and can take a minute. If it still does not appear, check Settings → your name → iCloud and confirm DailySpend is allowed.

What does automatic logging actually do?

It uses a Shortcuts automation that runs on your phone when you tap to pay, and sends the amount to DailySpend. It never sees your card or your bank. You set it up once, and you can switch it off in the Shortcuts app whenever you like.

I went over. What happens?

Tomorrow starts slightly lower, so you catch up gradually rather than all at once. Anything still owed at the end of the month is wiped — a bad month does not follow you into the next one.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app clears everything on your device. To remove what is in iCloud, go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and delete DailySpend there.
